Monotype Prints

I love to walk in the woods and wander through gardens. I love to cook with fresh herbs and vegetables from the farmer’s market. I often pick up beautiful leaves and petals to appreciate their colors, shapes, and details. I capture these lovely moments in my artwork through the process of monotype printmaking.

To make each one-of-a-kind print, I arrange botanical elements onto an inked plexiglass plate, overlay it with printmaking paper, then run the plate and paper through the printing press. The details—and sometimes even the color and scent---of the plant materials are embossed onto the paper. Each monotype print is a unique and spontaneous creation.
