“I love felt because it makes me feel intrigued and adventurous. When I lay out the wool and fabrics, I envision what the final product is going to look like. But then, I soak the wool in soapy water, do felting and fulling, and the result comes out to be something that I could not have predicted! explains Irina. “That incredible euphoric feeling of completing something that originated from within you is something every felt maker knows and loves. That is why each work is special and one of a kind, she says.

Irina continues, “Why felting, you might ask? The reason is hard to describe; it is subconscious. I perceive the world through my eyes.” Irina is a visual thinking person, and vision is her primary sense. She interacts with this fascinating world through her hands and skin as well. The end result is a medium that she can feel, both visually and physically.

One of her passions is making beaded jewelry with Swarovski crystals, gemstone beads, and the most delicate Japanese seed beads. The first signs of her interest in Swarovski appeared in Irina's life when her younger son had become a competitive ballroom dancer. She designed and made him and his partner dance costumes and embellished them with Swarovski elements. Years after, she came across beautiful beaded jewelry pieces of Russian jewelry makers and took master classes from them.

She specializes in Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Boho, and Victorian style jewelry.
