I discovered weaving and spinning fiber during my sojourn as a director of Recreational Therapy thirty years ago. While many things in my life have changed over time (including my career; I was last professionally heard from as an outpatient psychotherapist with MA, EdS, NCC, and LMFT) my interest and love for fiber has remained constant. I am sure this sounds extremely quirky but I love the smell of raw (just shorn, unwashed) fleece in the spring. Motherhood and a move to Massachusetts gave me a hiatus from my career and I began immersing myself in fiber again. I continued to spin and knit but curiosity led me to explore felting. I am essentially self-taught although I learn constantly from others’ art, books, and creative ventures. I have discovered that creating three dimensional shapes in wool is great fun and carries a real satisfaction in that one can hold the tangible results of one’s mental musings.
