She is a fine art photographer and photojournalist based in Natick, and describes Great Blue Herons as "a study in patience and grace." Babsje photographs the herons from the cockpit of a floating kayak while paddling the lakes, ponds, and rivers of the Charles River watershed, and so her work offers intimate glimpses of the beautiful birds in an unusual and original way. Her Great Blue Heron portraits have appeared in corporate and private collections, and in "A Patience of Herons" at a local Audubon. Babsje studied graphic design and journalism at The Pennsylvania State University and has worked in digital media for international media companies.
