As a fiber artist I have a wealth of experience working with dyes.
My experiments with colors and techniques have led me to explore the design possibilities suggested by this medium.
My work features hand-dyed fibers created to support my images and products. From colorful playful tie-dyed fabrics used to create tapestries or t-shirts suitable for children, to delicate subtle shibori techniques executed upon fine silk scarves or used in complex piecework, my intent is to create pieces that celebrate the inherent beauty of these fibers without losing the integrity of the overall design.
Inspiration comes to me from all directions, observation of nature as well as those who have gone before me in the art world. I also find that the unexpected results inherent to the dye process itself often reveal new paths for me to travel.
