Debra loves working with color and the freedom to be expressive. She likes to play and experiment with materials: mixing, layering, and having fun. This process allows her to relax and find focus. Debra’s material use and artistic styles change and evolve eclectically. She is inspired by many diverse things: natural forms such as trees (her favorite motif), items in the news, and abstract arrangements.
Debra likes to use many materials and techniques; her favorites are the vibrant, translucent colors of watercolor dyes, natural materials she collects, and printmaking.
