Allie Loehlin has Studied pottery on both East and West coasts. Her Studio has been in her Wellesley , MA home since 1975. She produces cooking and serving dishes, as well as more decorative pieces, such as vases, lamps bases, candlesticks and tiles. Inspiration for her designs comes form nature and a variety of folk art traditions from around the world. Allie’s work is all functional, high-fired white stoneware. Each piece is individually thrown on an electric potter’s wheel. It is then hand decorated with brushed underglazes. Designs include flowers, berries, leaves, insects and incised geometric patterns. After a bisque firing, each piece is dipped in a clear glaze and fried in an electric kiln to 2200F. (1225C). Each pot is ovenproof and lead free, dishwasher and microwave safe. If treated with care, this pottery will last for many generations. Severe thermal shock can cause cracking, so avoid sudden temperature changes.
